Devotional for November 3

Leaning On The Everlasting Arms

Author: Elisha A. Hoffman

Scripture: Dueteronomy 33:27, Psalm 121:3

The eternal God is your refuge.
And underneath are the everlasting arms:
He will thrust out the enemy from before you,
And will say, "Destroy!"
He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

Hymn lyrics:
What a fellowship, what a joy divine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
What a blessedness, what a peace is mine,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain
Leaning, leaning, safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning, leaning on the everlasting arms.

O how sweet to walk in this pilgrim way,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
O how bright the path grows from day to day,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain

What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.

Refrain

Today's thoughts:
What a comfort to have blessed peace with our Lord so near. We will never be defeated for we have our Lord's promise that He is with us always! When we lean on God's everlasting arms we find peace and rest. Our pathways become brighter with each passing day!
